Glamour
Fraught with unconscious desire
they live hard and reckless
the bright and lithe group of shallow gentlemen
Nothing gentle about them
they don’t even try
It’s simply not their nature
Locusts fly from town to town
as they burn through parties
No doubt, bugs leave less of a mess
Their ties flicked haphazardly over their shoulders
buttons undone and shirts untucked
careless.
But I needed a ride
I swear.
They were passed out
drank too much
I went out to take a piss
One of them must have turned over
in their sleep
careless
I heard the rolling sound
I zipped up too fast
got caught, it hurt
careless
By the time I turned
too late, splash
into the lake
careless
They drowned officer
I couldn’t do a thing
I never learned how to swim
How…
careless
